Project Summary

The Med Math dashboard contains various activities where users select a medication and use its prescription label to test their understanding.

Problem

In order to obtain a nursing license, students are required to successfully pass the National CouncilLicensure Examination (NCLEX). Within this exam, there is a section that tests students' ability to accurately and precisely calculate medication dosages, ensuring they can deliver safe and effective nursing care. In the initial stages of the GCU Pre-Licensure Program, students lack prior experience in the medical field. Nevertheless, they are assigned medication calculation tasks in each course. These tasks progressively increase in difficulty as students advance through the program. Therefore, students faced challenges in this area due to the absence of visual references, proper terminology, and practice exercises.

Solution

To create an interactive method to infuse mathematics into every Pre-Licensure Program course, offering students an assignment or review tool.
