In collaboration with the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology (CSET), AWS developed a comprehensive safety training course tailored to the unique needs of the STEM building. This building houses complex, hazardous equipment and chemicals across its four floors, necessitating a robust training solution to ensure safety protocols are followed by all students, faculty, and staff.
The course includes a series of videos that provide a visual walkthrough of safety protocols and procedures specific to the building’s different rooms and areas. These videos highlight key safety measures for working with hazardous materials and machinery, ensuring a thorough understanding of potential risks.
To reinforce the content, participants are required to complete a quiz at the end of the course to assess their comprehension of the material. To comply with university regulations, all students and faculty using the STEM building’s resources must complete the training and acknowledge their understanding. This ensures a culture of safety and accountability within the campus community.
The College of Science, Engineering, and Technology (CSET) needed an accessible, engaging solution to ensure all students, faculty, and staff were trained on safety procedures in the STEM building. With its complex layout and hazardous materials, consistent safety training was crucial. The university sought a scalable, effective way for users to learn and acknowledge safety protocols.
AWS worked closely with CSET to design a custom media-rich training course specifically for lab safety. Video-based training covers the essential safety protocols for all areas within the STEM building, including labs, workshops, and storage rooms. Interactive quizzes ensure understanding, while successful completion is required for building access. The course meets university safety regulations and integrates seamlessly with the Learning Management System (LMS) for easy tracking and reminders.
