The Death Investigation lets users review standard operating procedures, take a quiz to assess their understanding, and complete a virtual simulation. During the simulation, users take photos, write notes, and collect evidence.
The new Master level Forensics program is tasked with being a hand's on learning experience, unlike similar programs on the market. To meet that need, the CDs and college members are utilizing simulations, media pieces, videos, and at home lab kits. The request for this course, is to create a simulation that presents the student with different ethical situations and requires them to choose how they would/should react.
The SME and CD envision 2 simulations being created for the course, very similar to the Crime Scene Simulation that AWS delivered for Fall 2020. However, this course would have one sim in Topic 2 and another in Topic 6. The sim in Topic 2 would be more focused on evidence collection and would be unique since there would be a body on scene. The second simulation would be more specific to blood spatter and bullet holes. However, both would follow a basic function of SOP review, quiz, and simulation. Both simulations would also have elements of photos, notes, and evidence collection within the virtual sphere.
