AI Tools and Applications
We build custom tools and applications that utilize AI to improve efficiency. The following is how we approach development:
- We start with publicly available knowledge (ChatGPT data).
- The tool can be configured to respond with specific GCU/GCE knowledge, though this increases development time.
- AI tools can provide a unique experience tailored to your desired outcome.
Consider whether an existing tool can be utilized or adapted to achieve your objective, or if a new tool must be developed.
Educational AI Tutors
AI Tutors are designed and trained to support a range of student inquiries, from fundamental concepts to complex theories. The following is how we approach development for GCU AI Tutors:
- The knowledge draws from publicly available information rather than specific GCU course content.
- The focus is on broader topics, rather than individual courses.
- When developed for a particular subject area, the tutor is intended to be applicable across all related courses.

What data can be captured from the tool?
We will discuss your need to capture data and provide possible solutions in the evaluation meeting.
Who tests the AI Tool?
Stakeholder testing is vital in ensuring it responds correctly and provides the experience you expect. AWS will test for accessibility standards and quality assurance.
What Is the Approval Process?
New project requests will be discussed and prioritized with the Academic Leadership team.
What will I need to provide?
GCU Documentation
If the tool should have specific knowledge of GCU/GCE that is not public knowledge, you will need to provide the content/documentation.
Examples
Document questions users may ask and provide a desired response as an example, noting any specific expectations.
Stakeholders
Subject matter experts, decision makers, and testers.
Communication Plan
Where will users access the tool? How will you notify users the tool is available? How often?
How long will development take?
Development time will vary depending on several factors. The following are general factors that will impact development time:
